Cancer link prompts fears over French made breast implants

Mixed messages over the safety of a particular breast implant have left some women wanting to have them removed.

French women who received the Poly Implant Prosthese may have government-funded surgery to remove the implants following the death of a woman from cancer.

The UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has said there is no evidence to support the removal of the implants, which were manufactured by PIP.

Up to 40,000 women in the UK could have had defective breast implants and two people told Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire that they wanted to have them removed.
