Assisted dying: 'Strong case' for change in law

A panel of experts - who have been considering the right to assisted suicide in England and Wales - say terminally ill patients should be allowed to seek medical help to end their lives.

The report - funded by campaigners who want to see a change in the law - says people who are expected to die within a year should be allowed to end their life sooner if they wish.

But critics says the panel was biased, and the government says it has no plans to change the law.
