David Cameron on NHS bill: 'Reform is never easy'

Prime minister David Cameron has said there "are a few myths we need to bust" and pledged to push ahead with controversial plans to reform the NHS.

Earlier, health secretary Andrew Lansley was greeted with shouts of "shame" as he headed for a meeting inside No 10 about the Health and Social Care Bill.

Medical groups not opposed to the plans were invited to the talks but others, including the British Medical Association and Royal College of Nursing, were not present.
