Community nursing 'overburdened' by NHS cuts
Health services in the community are close to breaking point in the UK, nurses leaders are warning.
A survey carried out by the Royal College of Nursing found that cuts to councils and hospitals were overburdening nurses in the community.
The RCN described government plans to move care away from hospitals and into the community as a "facade", saying community services were "under-invested and overburdened".
The research was released as RCN members gather in Harrogate for their annual conference, which will be addressed by the Health Secretary Andrew Lansley.
