IVF should be given sooner and to older women, says NICE

New NHS guidelines should allow couples struggling to have a baby to get fertility treatment more quickly and older women to gain access to IVF.

Caroline Wood who was refused IVF treatment on the NHS because of her age said, "The PCTs aren't actually using the guidelines that were put in place in 2004... I can't see that anything is going to change."

Caroline and her husband spent £20,000 on IVF treatment before successfully having their daughter Hannah.
