NHS staff 'gagging clauses' are banned

Gagging clauses which prevent departing NHS staff from speaking out about patient safety or care have been banned by the government.

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said the era of gagging NHS workers must end, because a culture of openness was key to improving standards.
