NHS 111 advice line: 'Problem has been waiting times'

The chief operating officer for NHS England has said some patients have waited too long for help when using the new non-emergency 111 telephone service.

Dame Barbara Hakin said there had been "some problems with the delivery of 111" and that "some providers haven't provided a satisfactory service".

But she said that steps had been put in place to improve the service.
