Emma Parlons on why she had a double mastectomy

Angelina Jolie has announced in a New York Times article that she has undergone a double mastectomy, in order to reduce her chances of developing breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Campaign's Emma Parlons had the same procedure three years ago.

Speaking to the BBC, she gave a stark comparison: "If somebody said your flight... was about 85, 86% likely to come down, you wouldn't get on that aeroplane."
