Ban lifted for NHS staff with HIV

A ban that stops healthcare staff with HIV performing certain medical procedures is to be lifted in England, Wales and Scotland.

Under new rules workers with HIV will be allowed to undertake all tasks, including surgery and dentistry, if they are on effective combination anti-retroviral drug therapy.
