Many doctors failing to spot sepsis, officials warn

Health officials are warning that tens of thousands of people are dying because doctors are failing to recognise the symptoms of sepsis.

The condition is triggered by the body's immune system overreacting to infection.

It has been estimated that around 37,000 people died from it last year. Doctors say a third could have been saved.

Dominic Hughes reports.
