Care Quality Commission 'may use hidden cameras' in homes

Hidden cameras and mystery-shopper exercises could be used to help inspect care homes in England, under plans being considered by the health and social care watchdog, the Care Quality Commission.

New adult social care chief inspector Andrea Sutcliffe said she wanted to explore the role such techniques could play in uncovering abuse and neglect.
