Fat pledge by top food makers 'not enough', says expert

A agreement to cut levels of saturated fat in food "doesn't go far enough", a public health expert has warned.

The commitment is part of the voluntary "responsibility deal" between industry and government - but experts have criticised the approach.

Professor Alan Maryon-Davis of King's College said: "Although almost half of manufacturers have signed up the pledge, very little is actually going on."
