'We let Colchester cancer patients down' says NHS Trust chief

A hospital cancer unit is being investigated by police after staff said they were being "pressured or bullied" to falsify data relating to patients.

"Inaccuracies" were found with waiting time data relating to cancer treatment at Colchester hospital, the Care Quality Commission found.

The trust's chief executive, Dr Gordon Coutts, has apologised for ''letting patients down'' and said action would be taken.
