German firm ordered to pay PIP compensation

A French court has ruled that a German company should pay compensation to more than 1,500 women who received faulty PIP breast implants.

TUV Rheinland was responsible for ensuring the implants conformed to European safety standards.

The ruling could lead to many more claims for compensation.
