Tamiflu: 'Research is flawed', says manufacturer

Analysis suggesting that a drug for flu works no better than paracetamol has been labelled as flawed by manufacturer Roche.

Roche's UK medical director Dr Daniel Thurley told the Today programme that Tamiflu, widely prescribed during the swine flu outbreak in 2009, remains "an effective treatment".

But British Medical Journal editor-in-chief Dr Fiona Godlee told presenter John Humphrys that the research had been "extensively peer-reviewed".
