Woman defends decision to film her own abortion

A woman who filmed herself while having a surgical termination and posted it online has defended her decision.

Emily Letts, an abortion counsellor from New Jersey, made the video to banish stigma surrounding the procedure and show the experience could be positive.

She was filmed from the waist up and explained during the video that she was not ready to have children.

The 25-year-old told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast that despite the "blind hatred" expressed by some people, she had been "touched" by the many messages of support from other women.
