Organ transplants 'reach new record'

The number of organ transplants carried out in the UK has reached a new record - with more than 4,600 patients benefiting from operations last year.

But the NHS Blood and Transplant data have shown that three people a day still died because of a shortage of donors.

By 2020 the NHS wants to increase the donor rate by more than 50%. Jane Dreaper reports.
