Clegg: Mental health research 'needs boost'

The Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg, says analysing and treating depression should be given as much priority as work on diabetes and other physical health conditions.

He told the BBC that his party's election manifesto would promise to raise annual spending on mental health research in England by £50m by 2020.
