Nobel prize winner: There was 'exhilaration and pleasure'
Professor John O'Keefe, who has jointly won the Nobel Prize for physiology and medicine, has said he realised his plans for the future would be a little bit different, following the announcement he had won.
He won the award with a Norwegian couple, May-Britt Moser and Edvard Moser, for their work on the discovery of the brain's "GPS system".
It is hoped their findings could help to explain why patients with Alzheimer's disease cannot recognise their surroundings.
