New guidelines proposed for cosmetic surgery

The Royal College of Surgeons says there should be better information available to patients who want to undergo cosmetic procedures.

It has published plans for new safeguards to avoid botched procedures, including a voluntary register where surgeons have to demonstrate they have the right skills and experience.

BBC Breakfast spoke to consultant aesthetic and plastic surgeon Gary Ross, and to Sam Barton, who has spent over £50,000 on cosmetic surgery and was unhappy with some of the results.
