England car smoking ban: 'We need to protect our children'
Smoking in cars with children will be banned in England from next October, with drivers facing £50 fines.
The move follows a similar ban in Wales, and aims to protect young people under 18 from second-hand smoke. Scotland is also considering a ban.
Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies, says 800 children a day are taken to see the doctor because of second-hand smoking.
Update 13 March 2015: This video has been edited to remove a reference by Dame Sally Davies to the possible effects of butterscotch flavouring used in e-cigarettes.
