Cold sore virus could treat skin cancer, say scientists

Scientists say they have developed an effective new treatment for advanced skin cancer, which they hope could be available within a year.

They found that injecting tumours with a modified version of the herpes virus that causes cold sores, could halt their growth or even eradicate them.
