PIP delays ruled 'unlawful and unacceptable' by High Court

The High Court has ruled that the government took an "unlawful and unacceptably long time" to pay new welfare benefits to two unnamed disabled people.

The two had said their nine month wait for the money had left them dependent on loan sharks and food banks.

But the judge ruled that although the delay was unacceptable - this was not a legal test case.
