The innovative face of modern cancer treatment

Cancer specialists believe this is a period of remarkable progress in the fight against the disease. A raft of new drug treatments are being developed which are helping to extend the lives of patients.

They include drugs which target DNA mutations in tumours which drive cancer growth. Another approach is to boost the power of the immune system to attack cancer. Our medical correspondent Fergus Walsh explains.
