The woman who can 'smell' Parkinson's disease

Joy Milne's late husband suffered from Parkinson's disease and she says, even before diagnosis, she "recognised a change in his smell".

It was not until much later that she realised this change was related to the disease, she met several other sufferers and "they also had the smell".

Professor Perdita Barran from the University of Manchester is leading a study on whether use of smell could help diagnose the disease earlier.
