More people arriving at A&E with mental health issues

There's been a steep increase in the number of people arriving at accident and emergency departments in England with mental health issues putting more pressure on a system already under strain.

The latest official figures analysed for the BBC suggest that last year there were over 165,000 psychiatric attendances at A&E.

That includes a rise of 89% in the number of children and young people under 18 attending A&E.

BBC's Alison Holt reports from Birmingham.
