Covid-19 admissions 'already three times worse' than flu season

Hospital admissions due to coronavirus are already three times worse than during a bad flu season, the chief executive of NHS England has said.

Sir Simon Stevens said "concern levels are going up" because the number of coronavirus inpatients is going up.

He spoke as health leaders in England said that lockdown is needed to stop major disruption to care.
