Secret diary casts light on origins of British SAS regiment

It is 70 years since the creation of the SAS regiment during the North African campaign in World War II.

Since then, the exploits of the Special Air Service have become the stuff of legend as they took part in British army operations around the world.

But most people, including SAS veterans, never knew about the existence of a regimental diary kept during the war, which the BBC has been given exclusive access to.

Robert Hall took a look through the diary with military historian Gordon Stevens.
