Self-defence classes for blind and visually impaired people

The Guide Dogs association is calling on the government to consider the idea of making a dog attack on an assistance animal punishable with equivalent penalties to an attack on a human being.

The call brings into focus the nature of vulnerability of blind people and how safe it is on the streets for those who cannot see well, and how they can stay safe.

Self-defence teacher Professor Stephen Nicholls has spent many years developing martial arts-style moves that would work in a real life confrontational situation for blind or visually impaired people.
