What will Hispanic takeover mean for US?

The growth of the Hispanic population in California could reach a new milestone as early as 2013, an analysis of Census data shows.

By next year, immigrants and their descendants from Central and South America could become the biggest ethnic group in the country's most populous state - surpassing whites for the first time.

But Hispanics still trail other ethnic groups in important aspects of society. They are underrepresented among university graduates and Hispanic business owners are more likely to file for bankruptcy.

The BBC went to southern California to hear experts talk about where the Hispanic community stands.
