US football coach who met Rouhani is unlikely ambassador
Omid Namazi is the assistant coach of the Iranian national football team, but he lives in the town of Sewell in the US state of New Jersey.
Born to Iranian parents in Utah, Mr Namazi now travels back and forth between his family in the American suburbs and his football team in Tehran.
Iran qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil just two days after the new president Hassan Rouhani was elected. He explained to the BBC how football pride and political change came together in a week of celebrations this summer - and how he believes sport can bring his two countries closer together.
