#BBCtrending: How funny can you be in six seconds?

Ever heard the saying "brevity is the soul of wit"?

Those were the words of William Shakespeare 400 years ago and they ring true for today's generation of comedians who are using Vine to share their work.

Videos on Vine, which was acquired by Twitter in 2012, have a six second time limit and loop continuously. Vine has an active comedy scene and the recent death of Nick Spears, one of the stars of the circuit, has brought the community of comedians together to pay tribute. Nick Spears had over 120,000 followers on Vine and used comedy to raise awareness about cancer, external, using an alter ego called "Thor." He died on Friday, reportedly , externalof heart complications.
