A different tune: Making music with strange and ancient instruments
Clare Salaman is a British multi-instrumentalist and composer.
Many of the instruments she plays date back to medieval times - among others she plays the hurdygurdy, nyckelharpa, Hardanger fiddle and medieval vielle.
In 2010 she set up The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments, working with musicians from all over Europe to take the music of these little known instruments to a wider audience.
BBC News went to meet Clare Salaman and her extraordinary instrument collection.
