Life as a Nepalese 'living goddess'

Nepal has a centuries-old tradition of choosing a young girl as a "living goddess" which continues to this day.

The Kumari is worshipped by Nepali Hindus and Buddhists, who believe she is the reincarnation of the Hindu goddess Durga.

People from around the world flock to get a glimpse of her.

BBC News went to meet 11-year-old Kumari Shobha Bajracharya, along with her mother and her tutor, and heard from former Kumari, Chanira Bajracharya, about the reality of life as a living goddess.
