Too much or too little: Wrestling with stuff in the US

It's a well-known and often-quoted fact that consumer spending drives the US economy. But it can also lead to what could be called the "stuff paradox": a large number of Americans have so much clutter they don't know what to do with it, while others don't have anything at all.

It's a very visible example of the growing wealth gap that the BBC has been exploring in its Richer World series.

So what happens to all that stuff that people don't want and how can it help those in need? Jane O'Brien has been finding out.
