Hubble Space Telescope celebrates 25 years

The Hubble Space Telescope was launched into orbit 25 years ago. Since then it has produced incredible images that have changed the way people think about space and led to major scientific discoveries about the nature of the universe.

In honour of Hubble's silver anniversary, Nasa has released a new image of "celestial fireworks", capturing a giant star cluster 20,000 light-years from Earth.

The BBC's Aleem Maqbool reports.

Produced by Ashley Semler and Lynsea Garrison. Filmed by David Botti and Ian Druce. Edited by Bill McKenna.
