Divine intervention: A final night with a drag legend

The actor Glenn Milstead is probably better known to audiences as Divine, the audacious performer in such John Waters' cult classics as Pink Flamingo and Hairspray.

A new play at the New York Fringe Festival imagines Milstead, who died in 1988, on the last night of his life - when he was poised to start his career as a character actor and leave Divine behind.

Divine/Intervention will play in New York until 29 August.
