'I helped build the world’s longest tunnel'

In August 1962 French and Italian workers tunnelling through the Alps met face-to-face for the very first time.

It had taken the two sides more than three years excavating under the massive mountain range to reach the middle.

Italian engineer Franco Cuaz was a consultant on the construction.
