Mercury prize nomination for debut 'great' say Alt-J
Alt-J say they are happy to be nominated for the £20,000 Mercury Prize but say they may feel a bit different on the night.
The band named themselves Alt-J after the command used on a Mac keyboard to create Greek letter Delta, which looks like a triangle and is also used to show change in mathematical equations.
Their album An Awesome Wave made the top 20 and is one of the favourites to win the coveted prize.
Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green from the band were speaking to Newsbeat's entertainment reporter Natalie Jamieson at The Q Awards.
The winners will be announced on 1 November.
