A guide to the technology behind a Formula E race car

Drayson Racing is one of only two British teams in the forthcoming Formula E World Championship, which is due to start in September.

Ten teams are involved, with races being held in cities around the world including London, Beijing and Los Angeles.

Drayson Racing's test car, which is fully powered by batteries, can go from 0mph to 100mph (160km/h) in around five seconds.
