Wild boar numbers are a challenge to French authorities

Across Europe, the numbers of wild-boar have shot up in recent years and one reason is believed to be milder weather.

They cause considerable damage to crops and last year were responsible for 20,000 road accidents in France alone.

As Hugh Schofield reports from the Bas-Rhin department of Alsace in eastern France, hunters are increasingly being called upon to keep the boar population under control.
