Are cities the key to saving our pollinating insects?

Researchers have embarked on the biggest Britain-wide study to find out where insect pollinators - from bees to butterflies - can be found.

Surprisingly, they think cities may be the place where these insects are thriving.

They say finding out where the insects are doing well could be the key to boosting their numbers, which is vital in the face of their recent dramatic declines.

Professor Jane Memmott, from the University of Bristol, who is leading the study, explains how a typical residential street in Bristol is a pollinator haven.
