A seasonal look at the birds visiting our gardens

The British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) has published its annual survey, external revealing the birds that are the most likely to be found in gardens in the UK and Ireland.

It is compiled from the results from 14,500 volunteers who send the BTO a weekly report of the feathered visitors in their gardens.

Here, Dr Tim Harrison, from the BTO Garden Birdwatch team, suggest some birds that can be spotted from your kitchen window over the course of the year.
