Mars Curiosity: Nasa hails 'victory' as rover lands

The Nasa robot rover, Curiosity has successfully landed on Mars.

It will embark on a mission of at least two years to look for evidence that the planet may have once supported life.

Speaking during a news conference Dr Charles Elachi, director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said: ''We will continue not only exploring Mars, but exploring the solar system and exploring the universe, because our curiosity has no limits.''
