Bloodhound project: Key test in 1000mph car quest
A British team trying to build a car capable of driving beyond 1,000mph has tested the vehicle's rocket engine.
The motor burned for 10 seconds on a static rig inside a hardened shelter at Newquay airport, Cornwall.
The Bloodhound car will attempt to raise the world land speed record beyond the current 763mph next year, then try to reach 1,000mph in 2014.
