Skywatchers gather for Perseid meteors

Skywatchers have seen the high point of the annual Perseid meteors.

The shower, which reached its peak on Monday night, occurs when the Earth passes through a stream of dusty debris from Comet Swift-Tuttle.

The meteor showers impressed those who gathered at the Bayfordbury Observatory in Hertfordshire.
