Why China is shooting for the Moon
Final preparations are under way for China's first attempt to land a spacecraft on the Moon.
Lift-off is expected in the next few days for a Chinese mission to explore the lunar surface.
It will be the first Moon landing in more than 40 years.
China says it wants to conduct research and to prepare the way for manned missions, which may seek to exploit the Moon's natural resources.
The BBC's science editor David Shukman visited an exhibition in Guiyang, southern China, that explores the country's obsession with the Moon.
