Remarkable lives of limpets

Limpets, one of the most familiar molluscs on the seashore, are remarkably well adapted to life in the shallows.

The conical shape of their shells helps them retain moisture and their remarkable teeth carve out a "home scar" in the rock.

For the series Rock Pool Survivors on BBC Two, presenter Prof Richard Fortey spoke to Dr Stephen Hawkins from the University of Southampton about these and other limpet secrets.
