Cumbria flood: 'This field used to extend for another 25m'
The government is considering proposals that would pay farmers to allow their land to be flooded during periods of heavy rainfall.
The idea would be to prevent the water from reaching more densely-populated areas.
Farmers, including those in rural Cumbria, were hit hard by the unprecedented flooding last month.
An estimated 630 farms have been affected, with at least 2,000 sheep killed, along with other livestock.
The BBC's environment correspondent Claire Marshall took a look at the damage caused to one farm.
