New project to measure UK air pollution from the air
Scientists have carried out their first test flight of a project to measure UK air pollution from the air.
The Natural Environment Research council will embark on a mission to fly through and analyse plumes of pollution emitted by urban areas across the country.
The aim is to build a picture of how the country can meet air quality targets, reducing the amount of pollutants that are harmful to human health.
Our science reporter Victoria Gill joined the team on the flight.
